I love books with vamps, weres, etc, though perhaps not zombies so much! I will be adding the other books to my list when the latest in series by Kim Harrison,Patricia Briggs etc are published!

Welcome to the challenge dustydigger!

I'm a huge fan of vamp lit. I used to read a lot vampire books but stopped reading them for awhile because they had gotten so trendy (coughtwilightcough). I don't think I've ever read anything with werewolves or zombies but have a few that I want to check out in this challenge.

Off to see what books you've selected!

Alright, I recently discovered I'll only have to add one or two books to make this list, so I'm down!

Hi everyone! I've joined this challenge after realizing I've read books about vampires, werewolves, Grendel, and a gollum. I'm about halfway through another vampire book and will be reading a zombie novel next.

Welcome spoltz! Good call on the golem.....I never even considered it/her a "monster".....but yes, absolutely. And The Golem and the Jinni is such an excellent book!

State of the Challenge (as of today Sept. 3)

6 participants
30 books read
18 books reviewed

3 participants have completed the challenge. The other three have each read 4 of the required 6 books.

I quite enjoyed A Taste of Blood Wine (vampire lit) but the other 3 books I've read were rather "meh." I have high expectations for the remaining two books - Fledgling by Octavia Butler (one of my favorite authors) and Sunshine by Robin McKinley (which won the Mythopoeic award).

Has everyone else been enjoying their time with monsters?
