Uber User Posts: 614 Location: New Zealand | Is JournalStone a legit publisher? It is in the WWEnd database, so I am hoping so. If it is, could someone add the books they publish by Douglas Wynne: Red Equinox, The Devil of Echo Lake, and Steel Breeze?

Uber User Posts: 1465 Location: The Netherlands | It is in the database, currently with 3 books https://www.worldswithoutend.com/publisher.asp?ID=480 I'll have a look at those three books in a bit. Edit: hmm, ISFDB doesn't seem to know them, this is going to take a bit longer. Edited by valashain 2015-02-02 2:49 AM

Uber User Posts: 614 Location: New Zealand | Sorry for all the requests. Trying to sort out my reading list and challenges for this year. Last one I would really like added for the moment would be C. Robert Cargill who has two books, Dreams and Shadows, and Queen of the Dark Things, both published by Harper Voyager.

Uber User Posts: 857 Location: The Wilds of Washington | Hello all uber users. If you're looking for something to do, I found a listing over on wiki for Cthulhu Mythos anthologies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_Mythos_anthology#The_Book_of_C... We have some of them in the database already. Getting the rest in would be easy if we split it all up. Edited by gallyangel 2015-02-06 3:42 AM

Uber User Posts: 857 Location: The Wilds of Washington | Dlw28 - 2015-02-07 5:23 PM Hi, could these books be added please: The Stone Boatmen Radiant State by Higgins Zero Sum Game by Huang Thank you. These three are now in. I added both books by Huang, since they're the same series. Those two are pushing the boundaries of what we usually accept, but I figure we're going to have to adapt as the industry changes again. The Stone Boatmen got a really interesting blurp from Le Guin. I thought that, too -- but I've been reading some serious buzz on the Huang books and her other stories, so I think she's going to be a real up-and-comer.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 | Thanks! Yes- I read the blurb from LeGuin too and was the reason ive requested the book from the library. I'm curious, what about Huang's stories seemed iffy in terms of being included in the database?

If you look under the Product Details, they are both self-published by the author through Amazon Digital Services. The first one is at a rope-'em-in price of $.99. I'd already snagged it, but I've not gotten around to reading it yet.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 306 | Ah. I hadn't noticed the self-publishing bit. I picked up the .99 book too. Wish I could remember where I first heard about Huang but she was highly recommended. Going on vacation to a warm place this week and hope to read it!

I'd already snagged it, but I've not gotten around to reading it yet. I spent 10 to 15 minutes trying to cobble together some autobiographical info on Huang, before adding her to the database, only to then notice the publishing status of her books. Ugh! I wasn't about to not put anything in after the effort and since the database does have a method for dealing with this...don't know if it's a good method, or if we'll keep using it, but at least we do have the option; which got exercised. I'll be interested in hearing what people think of her. If the effort was worth it. Edited by gallyangel 2015-02-09 12:45 PM
