Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | This thread is the place to report any errors you find on any novel page. Bad Amazon links, duplicate novel entries, spelling errors etc. Basically, anything you find that needs fixing. This is a continuation of the Wrong link to Amazon thread which was a little too specific for the thread title. Thanks, as always, for the heads up on these issues!

Regular Posts: 63 Location: Zagreb | Stephen Kings Mist both Amazon links are wrong. Btw, I like more book rotator upper position like it is now. Book rotator is responsible for my daily visit to your wwend site, so it is important to me.

Book rotator is responsible for my daily visit to your wwend site, so it is important to me. Fixed. The Mist is a novella that originally published in the Skeleton Crew so we linked it there since there was no stand alone volume available at the time. I added the Kindle link too. Glad you like the Random Reads! I look those over daily too.

Regular Posts: 63 Location: Zagreb | This time it's not wrong link, but I think there is no need to open a new topic for it? It looks like Ken MacLeod book The Restoration Game is added twice in the database, (probably was already there when you got a books in a mail) although not from same publisher and same year? It shows when you query author. Edited by risbom 2011-10-09 1:57 AM

It shows when you query author. Drat! When I looked to see if we had the book already I searched the Pyr page. I forgot that Pyr often publishes re-prints from books published in the UK. I've deleted the extra record and added Pyr to the first Restoration record. Thanks for pointing that out!

Regular Posts: 63 Location: Zagreb | I guess that updating authors biography is not so easy tasks. Because someone biography is not something that is changed regularly. But people get older, etc. Today I found sentence in Stephen Baxter biography: "He is currently working on his next novel, collaboration with Sir Arthur C. Clarke." That is for sure obsolete info, and not correct any more.

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | I took out the last line so it's good to go now. Typically we'll update these as we find them but we don't have time to go looking through them all. If you find more drop me a note here and I will fix 'em. Thanks!

Regular Posts: 63 Location: Zagreb | That's good idea to update this thread title. Btw, I really don't know why it's happening to me, but Gene Wolfe The Sorcerer's House has wrong Amazon links (404-page not found). Maybe Amazon changed this book address or something.

Yeah, this thread title is more usefull. No reason to open a new thread for each issue on the some page. I fixed the link to Amazon and added the Kindle link too. Amazon usually uses the ISBN-10 as the link element but will occasionally mismatch the ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 or they'll us an ASIN number instead. In this case we had the ISBN-13 which is one character off the 10 on their site. Thanks!

Black Man (UK) and Thirteen (US) are the same book. Apparently "Black Man" is not a title that will sell in the US. The Kindle links are to Amazon.com so we end up with Thirteen there.

Uber User Posts: 454 | It looks like Mack Reynold's Looking Backward, from the Year 2000 is incorrectly included as a member of The Classics of Science Fiction (#96). Book #96 in Harris' list is actually Looking Backwards by Edward Bellamy. The Reynolds inclusion in the Pringle list is however correct. An easy mistake to make!

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Nice catch, Engelbrecht! I've fixed it now. Bellamy's "Looking Backward" is also published as "Looking Backward, 2000 to 1887" which only made it worse. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Uber User Posts: 454 | Thanks - I was inputting from my spreadsheet and noticed that one. Something else I ran across was that one of Philip Jose Farmer's titles is duplicated - The Other Log of Phileas Fogg and The Other Log of Phileas Fogg. Edited by Engelbrecht 2012-02-05 2:55 PM

New User Posts: 3 | Italo Calvino's novel (or, actually, pair of novels) "The Nonexistent Knight and The Cloven Viscount" has its title misspelled ("Nonexistant"). Is this really the right place to report this, as the first message says? Hard to believe no one has spotted any typos in the past five years. Edited by fredh 2017-03-23 11:22 PM

These little things crop up every once in a while and I always find them surprising. Thanks for the heads-up and welcome to WWEnd!

Thanks for the prompt correction of that typo. While you're at it, there are also a few issues in the "TERMS OF USAGE" on the new account registration page. "harassment" and "acknowledge" are misspelled. There's also a problem with the parallelism in the sentence beginning "You may not post": "libelous" needs to be replaced by a noun; either "libel" or "libelous material" would work.

It doesn't look as though the fix took; the Bellamy book doesn't show on the list.

New User Posts: 3 | The synopsis for Kim Stanley Robinson's novel "Green Mars" (novel.asp?ID=41) is messed up. The first two paragraphs describe another book entirely ("A Fire upon the Deep" by Vernor Vinge, in fact). The remaining two paragraphs are mostly correct, although the first Martian revolution was in 2061, not 2062.
