Random quote: When knowledge becomes formulated into a science, then it does take on a life of it's own, often alien to the human spirit that conceived it. -- Brian Aldiss (Frankenstein Unbound) - (Added by: gallyangel) |

Uber User Posts: 456 | I've finally finished my list of translated works in the WWE db. I'll have to admit that I was a little surprised by how many there were. Just post below if I've missed any...

Uber User Posts: 265 Location: Neither here...nor there | I found another author for those of you doing this challenge: Elizabeth Vonarburg. She's a Canadian author who writes in French.

Uber User Posts: 770 Location: SC, USA | I just found this online yesterday. Ursula K. Le Guin's translation of a Romanian author. It sounds very interesting. http://aqueductpress.com/books/SquaringTheCircle.php Sorry that I can't make the link work.

Uber User Posts: 1465 Location: The Netherlands | It's not in the database but the novel The Fat Years by Chinese author Chan Koonchung got some attention a few years back. It's one of the few SF-novels from the people's republic that got translated recently. Might be interesting for people participating in this challenge.

Uber User Posts: 770 Location: SC, USA | Gloker, I've added the Strugatsky book. It will not have a cover icon yet. I will also need to add the original publisher later, but it should be good to go for you to mark as read and add to the RYO. I can't add the Meyer book because the author is not already in WWE.

Member Posts: 29 | Hallo, Thank you! I saw on the home page that a huge pile of additions had just happened, but hadn't had time to go through them yet to check for any of mine. So I appreciate this note letting me know. Can I ask if there is any sense of when the authors not all ready in the database might get added? I believe that I have a few of those waiting for in my Young Adult challenge also. Thanks again- I appreciate all the work you and others do to keep this site so great! g

Uber User Posts: 770 Location: SC, USA | Gloker, i don't know the timeline for new authors and their books. Our lovely Administrator will have to make a record for the new author before the Uber Users can add books for that author. I know that we've already given him a pile of work b/c he has to add images for each book we add.
