Superior Achievement in a Novel

The Reformatory, Tananarive Due (Saga)
How to Sell a Haunted House, Grady Hendrix (Berkley)
Don?t Fear the Reaper, Stephen Graham Jones (Saga)
Lone Women, Victor LaValle (One World)
Black River Orchard, Chuck Wendig (Del Rey)

Does anyone have any thoughts on what will win? I was thinking Lone Women by Victor LaValle but my predictive accuracy is almost in the negative numbers.

Location: New Zealand		Lone Woman would be an excellent winner in my opinion.Maybe also the Stephen Graham Jones. I have enjoyed that series.

I haven't read The Reformatory yet, but it's on my list to read this year. I may have to move it up a bit.

Location: California		Well, once again, my predictive ability has failed me. This year's Bram Stoker award for the novel has gone to The Reformatory by Due. I think last year was a strong one for the horror genre, there were several worthy choices.

Location: California		The Shirley Jackson awards have come out. It's interesting that he Reformatory byTananarive Due and Don't Fear the Reaper by Stephen Graham Jones were the only ones also in the Stoker shortlist.

Brainwyrms, Alison Rumfitt (Nightfire)

ETA: The Locus Awards shortlist had all of the Stoker Awards shortlist choices but doesn't have the Shirley Jackson shortlist other than The Reformatory and Don't Fear the Reaper. I've always been interested in why some books are chosen over others. Is it availability, literary quality, reader awareness?
