The Internet comes to a small village in Karzistan (Kazahstan compounded with a British joke about toilets). But not just any Internet this pipes directly into your head and as Mae finds out brings you to another dimension of space and time.
Beautifully written with well drawn characters, gets a little mystical-happy-ending towards the end which detracts from the novel. More about the social changes of the technology, the science is a little far-fetched. Given the respectful way Ryman treats the natives the joke about the name is a little off kilter.
