Women of Genre Fiction - Book 12
Mechanique - Genevieve Valentine
Mechanique is the story of a circus of broken people, broken both physically and mentally. It takes place on a world that has seen much death from a great war. Many of the circus performers have been given new skeletal structures that allow them to easily do their death defying acts. Mechanique is the story of loyalty to friends who have become family. When the leader of their troupe is captured by the government, they band together to get her back. It is the story of greed. The government wants the technology/magic that allows these people to do their acts for the purpose of making soldiers.
Overall, this was surprisingly a good book.
