I love the feeling of being connected to an author right off the bat. When I picked this novel up, I was enraptured with Poore's writing style, humorous and intelligent with little anecdotes about life spiced in between the plotline. Characters that you felt gifted to be reading with deeper philosophical questions that for a thinker like me left my brain going into overdrive. I ate this book up. I've said it before and I'll say it again: books that make you feel a wide array of emotions are the best, and this book made me feel happy, quizzical, outraged, sad, and many more. This book deserves more recognition than it has currently.
Some questions it left me with that I'll leave with you:
1: How simple does life have to be happy and how do you balance selflessness and good deeds while trying to live your own life?
2: Can you boil perfection down or is it always abstract and personal?
3: What role does love play in personal satisfaction in life?
