I am so glad for freedom. I thought Fahrenheit 451 was depressing man... this is on a whole other level of depressing. This takes it even further than Animal Farm did. A book that makes you lose faith in humanity. It's so damn beliable, scarily believable in a way I had never thought of before. The end of the book had me in shambles, but not in outrage like Animal Farm had me. At the end of Animal Farm, I was just angry. At the end of this novel, I felt hopeless. Hopeless is not a good thing to feel, but I'll be the first to credit Orwell in his writing. There's a reason this novel is one the most rated on Goodreads. For many reasons, the writing is just simply impeccable. The prose is so logical it reminds me of reading Aristotle for a Political Philosophy class. This was by far the most effective dystopian Iv'e ever read and think I'm apt to read for many years. I didn't think I would have the crap scared out of me by something that's not horror. I'm in absolute awe.

I wonder what it would be like to be a fly on the wall to Orwell's thoughts while writing this one...
