I want to like this book and I want to write a glowing review...but it just didn't speak to me. If a book drags out and takes me a while to read it, then it doesn't move me. I had a lot of issue with the flow of this book. It read like a history lesson on the horror genre. I am not good at names so there were a lot of references that went right over my head. It was like being inside Jade's head and perusing her actual thoughts. I felt bad for the protagonist so the book was able to illicit empathy. I mean who hasn't felt alienated?
Oh yeah, I hated the ending. Did it end like it did as a lead in to book 2? I will probably read book two but I will think on it first.
