A decent, though now dated story about the fist moon landings and the conflict over which Earth power would have control over the moon and its potential.
The protagonist is tasked with establishing a moon base in the face of violent opposition from the USSR which wants the same control and is willing to destroy the explorers and their base. Along with this, a saboteur has been placed among the four person crew and the protagonist must find out which person it is before the whole mission is destroyed and everone along with it.
The protagonist seems overly burdened with this task, and the other, innocent crewmen are unhelpful in ferreting out the saboteur, making the task even more difficult.
The story is both an exploration story and a mystery to be solved, with a clock ticking all the while. A nice read for those who like SF mystery stories.
