Chilling Effect

The plot was all over the map, the main character was ill-mannered and obnoxious, and blurb (Psychic kittens!) was entirely false. The kittens, appearing mainly in the first chapter, were just kittens being kittens, and only one appeared in later chapters, sitting on someone's lap and purring. Granted, purring kittens don't show up often enough in sff, but if the Psychic Kittens are your main reason for reading this book, you are going to be very sorely disappointed.
